From reading on several forums and checking out my own domains and sites, its safe to say that the Google Page Rank update has occurred. Although it may not be fully finalized and some sites could increase or decrease again, the majority of the change has occurred. I will be updating my domain and sites list tomorrow with the updated Page Ranks for each. How did yours end up doing?

DomainerScript: A domainer’s true friend

Filed under: Uncategorized on 29th Dec 2008 by DNBlogger

It was long overdue. It was in the planning for last 4 years or so but I was never able to get to it.  It was a victim of ‘Analysis Paralysis’. I kept thinking what to do, how to do it, made layouts and made plans, but I never really pulled the trigger. I almost hired a web developer and programmer but then again gave up. I knew I must get it done but more importantly I knew that it must be done right.

What am I talking about?

Well, it’s the story of developing our domain portfolio site ImpactDomains.com for all of our domains that we have been acquiring for last 10 years. It was perhaps one of the most important things that we should have done a long time ago but kept delaying it. Part of the reason for the delay was that I was never able to find a software or script that will do exactly what I wanted to do with this domain site.

I was looking for a domain portfolio software which:

- was easy to learn

- easy to use

- easy to implement

- presented our domain portfolio in a professional manner

- has the ability to add unlimited categories

- has the ability to add unlimited domains

- has the ability to create unlimited content pages

- has payment system integrated in it

- allows us to sell our domains as well as other sellers’ domain names

- and above all has top notch support.

After looking at various scripts, I finally bought and implemented Domainer-Script from DomainerScript.com

The domainer script did all the above, plus much more. There was almost no learning curve and implementation of the script was easy, organizing the domains and content pages was a breeze. I only had one little issue during the whole process which was taken care of quickly by the great support team at DomainerScript. Tom at DomainerScript was extremely helpful and quick to answer all the queries.

It is quite obvious that DomainerScript is developed by a company that has in-depth knowledge of domaining and domainer needs. You don’t need any html knowledge to implement this software. All domain listings and pages are search engine optimized. The domainer script comes with many professional front-end template designs. You can quickly change templates from the back end. The entire back-end is very neat and easy to use. Best of all, the software is very reasonably priced.

I have no affiliate relationship with Domainer-Script at the time of this writing. I am just providing them this review because I believe that DomainerScript.com is the best domain name portfolio presentation software available. I hope you check them out if you are thinking about presenting your domains to the world in a professional manner. You can check Domainer Script in live action at ImpactDomains.com or visit DomainerScript.com

Proxy Promotion: Top Sites – Are They Effective

Filed under: Uncategorized on 27th Dec 2008 by admin

For every person that tells me top sites are a worthless, non-effective form of proxy promotion, there will always be another person to tell me the complete opposite that top sites are a solid, effective form of proxy promotion. Promoting your proxies through top sites is the most debated method of proxy promotion out there and people’s opinions about them are very mixed.

The real issue with top sites is it provides you with a significant amount of inconsistent traffic. Basically, you submit your link to all of these top sites, and post their link on your website, and for about a few days the top sites will give you a couple hundred visitors a day for a few days depending on how many top sites you submit your proxy to.  After a few days, the traffic starts to shoot back on down.

A more effective way to promote with top sites is submitting to a couple every day. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of them out there. If you submit your proxy to a couple every day then you will see consistent traffic for a longer period of time.

Once you run out of top sites to submit to though, your traffic will fall right back on down. And thats why people say it is an non-effective method.

Now my opinion and response to that argument is that with all that traffic you were getting from those top sites, chances are at least 10% of those visitors will return to your proxy and use it again, so you are not totally loosing all of your traffic. Also, once you are done submitting to top sites, and you have run out of top sites to submit to, that is when you move onto another promotional method. Sometimes you need to use multiple promotional methods to get consistent traffic.

So when I am asked the question whether top sites are effective or not, I strongly believe they are. My opinion can be summed up into 3 words which are, “TRAFFIC IS TRAFFIC”. Why do we market websites through things like top sites? In order to get traffic. And these top sites do provide good amounts of traffic. I would love to hear your opinions and comments on top sites, which you can submit in the comment form below!
